The League of Ukrainians of the World was created as an organization for Ukrainians, civic initiatives, and partners who are ready to work together across Ukraine and abroad. The League was registered in Kyiv on July 23, 2025.
Its first pillar is the orphan-support organization Dobrolad, which cares for 15 children from the village of Torchynovychi in the Sambir district. Among them are the two five-year-old sons of volunteer Ivan Makar, who went to war and was killed, along with other military orphans from the same village.
The second pillar is WUBEF, Inc. in New York. It is supported by 20 classmates from the Strilkiv boarding school community, led by the still-living 95-year-old director Bohdan Zhydyk and his sister Oksana.
The third pillar is WUBEF, Inc.’s affiliated company in Poland at 2 Mostova Street, Przemysl.
Many people have already passed through the League, but not all were ready to join officially, contribute, and work within common decisions. That is why LUS is focused not on nominal lists, but on responsible membership, real participation, and follow-through.
After its registration on July 23, 2025, the League is moving into official membership and international coordination.
